Patrimony, history and turism are subjects that complement each other. These areas´ convergences when done in a responsible way, turn any place in the world into an unforgettable life experience. The most wonderful trip you´ve already done or will do, is that one that cleans the soul in all resting, pleasure, sensibility and knowledge. Everything happening at the same time.

Historical cities, natural patrimonies, memory locations are spaces that only became important when an “other” recognized them. They are places that passed to be visited and got wonderment through a sensible look of who saw meaning there.

Very often, they´re a mere routine´s scenery to the residing population.  Frequently, we simply run by our city, passing by many patrimonies and we don´t even notice their importance. It´s missing someone´s look to say: this´s important!

In 2014 I wrote a text to PFFHFA (Patrimony´s Friends and History File Association), a philanthropic entity that works for Guarulhos´ culture, identity and history. I tried to recognize in places, people and memories that what passes unnoticed by us in the citie´s day by day routine, an exercise that can only be multidisciplinarily made.

How often don´t we listen to people saying: guarulhense doesn´t valorize its city, guarulhense doesn´t honor its city.  Will that be true?

Following, in the worldwide campaign rhythm #100happydayswhy not induce our citizen to visit and know its own city? 100 “happy days” in Guarulhos! 100 spots, 100 experiences. We want to instigate the looking exercise through this guide. 

There´s much to explore in this centenary city (older than Minas´ historical cities), in this megalopolis city (bigger than some states Economy and Population) and in this green city (almost 30% of Guarulhos territory is covered by one of the forests with the biggest biodiversity in the planet). Each item, an experience, each place, a history.It´s not possible to write all, but we´re exciting the reader here, have you already been to all?

The original list has 289 things to do, but we´ll continue in the game rules. Be there, visit, and try out our city. Guarulhos has much to offer.
